International day of old people 01.10

On the international day of old people three of my classmates and i  went to visit the retirement home for old people "Venta Boteva" in Veliko Tarnovo. There was a party with a special program, with songs and dances that the people from the home had prepared for their guests and I was very surprised by the fact the vice prime minister of Bulgaria came to see them too. It was very exciting for me because the people made a great appearance as they danced and sang. However, I was a bit angry because the minister didn't make any effort to show some interest in them, people who have worked all their lives for this country and at the end of the day  what do you think they get for a present from the government? A party grill. That was the best that they could do - a single party grill for 120 people. It was sad to look at them, sitting there but when we talked all of the grandmothers and fathers actually told us that they are really enjoying their stay in the home because they have a variety of activities to do during the day. They also told us that if it wasn’t for the home to stay in, they wouldn't have enough money for basic stuff such as good food and clothes. So they don't feel uncomfortable or something like that but I am really depressed because of the whole situation in our country- I just can't seem to understand why it isso hard to provide enough resources for those who need it the most!
